The Christian Science Church (Society) in Batesville will be holding its annual Thanksgiving service on Thanksgiving Day at 8:45 a.m. in the church edifice at College and 18th Streets. All are welcome.

This special service will include music and hymn singing and a reading of the Presidential (U.S.) Proclamation for Thanksgiving Day 2019.

A Thanksgiving Bible Lesson will be read from The King James Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, the Founder of the Christian Science Church. A period of time is set aside for testimonies and sharing of gratitude from attendees appropriate for the occasion.

The service will last less than an hour. Childcare is not provided but all children are welcome.

The church holds its regular Sunday service at 8:45 a.m. each Sunday and the public is welcome.

There is also a live, online Thanksgiving service at 11 a.m. CST from The Mother Church in Boston. It can be accessed by going to christianscience.com and clicking on the “Publications and Activities” tab and then clicking on “Online services and events”.

This special online service offers the same music, singing, and readings as the in-person service, but also includes testimonies of gratitude submitted by the online congregation.

A replay of the online service will be available until 7 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30.
