A faulty tail light on a vehicle led to the arrest of four people late Monday evening in Batesville. All four were occupants of the vehicle, a release from the Batesville Police Department (BPD) noted.

When the four appeared nervous, BPD officers asked to search the vehicle and were given permission. In the vehicle, police found several drug paraphernalia items.

Two occupants of the vehicle had active warrants and were taken into custody. The other two were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. One was also charged with obstructing governmental operation. All four went to jail.

The case remains under investigation.
