Olene (Hagler) Horton, 91, of Sulphur Rock passed away on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019, in Batesville.

She was born on Oct. 24, 1928, in Batesville, Arkansas to Willie and Nancy (Bruce) Hagler.

Olene of the Baptist Faith and a member of the Sulphur Rock Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and a Red Hatter. Olene loved to travel and take cruises, enjoyed gardening, and loved to line dance. Olene even volunteered as a foster grandparent at Sulphur Rock School.

Survivors include her son, William Charles Horton of Gulf Breeze, Florida; four daughters, Linda Carter (Dale) of Sulphur Rock, Dorotha Sparks (Butch) of Sulphur Rock, Gale Smith (David) of Navarre, Florida and Mauriene Winkles of Sulphur Rock; ten grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charlie Horton; three brothers and five sisters.

Pallbearers are Jason Carter, Dwayne Carter, Austin Carter, Will Horton, Ernie Winkle, and Chris Tomlinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Merl Middleton, John Bates, Marvin West, Ronnie Schulz, and Finis Horton.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019, at Sulphur Rock Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Mack’s Chapel Cemetery in Sulphur Rock.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2019 at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville.
