A Cave City man was arrested Monday, Dec. 2, after authorities reported they uncovered illegal drugs upon the execution of a search warrant at his residence.

Officers from the Sharp County Sheriff’s Office and the Cave City Police Department executed the warrant at the residence of Daryl Long, 47, located on Lile Street in Cave City, noted a press release from Sheriff Mark Counts.

“During a search of the home, several ounces of ice methamphetamine, a large quantity of suspected synthetic marijuana, and several items of drug paraphernalia were seized,” the release said.

Long was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Sharp County Detention Center awaiting the filing of formal charges for possession of a controlled substance (meth) with the intent to deliver; possession of a Schedule VI drug with the intent to deliver; and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the release.

Sheriff Counts’ release said the investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are anticipated.
