Obituary: Sharlene A. Harrison

Sharlene A Harrison, 84, of Batesville passed away Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019.

She was born at home on Dec. 20, 1934, in Saffell, Arkansas to Eather Ivorn Gilliam and Ida Paralee (Stone) Gilliam.

Sharlene was a member of Harrison Street Church of Christ and loved her church. She loved her family especially spending time with her grandchildren. She worked for JK Southerland for 18 years and Landers Theater for over 40 years with her husband. Her favorite color was pink; she enjoyed sewing and quilting, reading and writing poetry, and loved to garden.

Survivors include her son, Stephen Gilliam Harrison (Debbie) of Spooner, Wisconsin; two daughters, Sherry Sharlene Johnson (Johnny) of Batesville and Martha Ann Higgs (David) of Heber Springs; seven grandchildren, Jason Harrison, Misty Decker, Stephen Harrison, Crystal Harrington, Jennifer Sterling, Heath Higgs, and Evan Higgs; seventeen great-grandchildren; one brother, Fred Gilliam (Leslie) of Camp Springs, Maryland; one sister, Laura Jean McGinnis of Sheridan; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank J. Harrison; two sons, Frank (Frankie) Harrison and David Lynn Harrison; three brothers, Sig Gilliam, Woody Gilliam and Bill Gilliam; three sisters, Nora Smith, Stella Smith and Maye Diniakos; granddaughter, Rebecca Harrison; and great-grandson, Zachary Harrison.

Pallbearers are Keagan Harrison, Grady Harrison, Evan Higgs, Heath Higgs, Austin Harrington, and Jason Harrison.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019, at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home with Steve Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Gracelawn Cemetery in Tuckerman, Arkansas.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made in her honor to Paragould Children’s Home, 5515 Old Walcott Road, Paragould, AR 72450.
