Authorities received word Sunday evening that a Newark man was running around a neighborhood in the 900 block of Terry Drive, screaming, knocking on doors, and saying he and his truck were covered with blood.
Yet when deputies from the Independence County Sheriff’s Department took the man, identified in the incident report as Jason Earls (pictured), 36, into custody, there was no sign of blood on him, his clothes, or in his truck.
Deputies Johnny Byler and Tyler Cunningham asked Earls if he had recently consumed methamphetamine. Byler said Earls answered that he had smoked meth the previous day, the report noted.
Earls was transported to the Independence County Jail without incident. He was booked and charged with: criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, and public intoxication — drugs.
