A Batesville woman died yesterday after a one-vehicle accident on Pfeiffer Road.
According to the preliminary fatal crash summary from the Arkansas State Police, April D. Bauman, 47, was driving her 2007 Dodge Caliber east on Pfeiffer Road early Saturday afternoon when she failed to negotiate a curve, lost control of the vehicle, and struck a tree.
Sheriff Shawn Stephens of the Independence County Sheriff’s Department was the investigating officer at the scene, the summary noted. The weather was rainy at the time of the accident, and the road condition was wet, the report said.
