Independence County authorities say three people were arrested on various drug charges Thursday at a residence outside Sulphur Rock.
According to a news release, officials from the Independence County Sheriff’s Department, the 16th District Drug Task Force, Arkansas State Police, and Arkansas Community Corrections received information of a parole absconder being at a residence just outside Sulphur Rock.
Upon arrival at the residence, people were reported inside, but authorities said they would not answer the door, the release noted. A stolen vehicle from Jackson County at the edge of the yard was also discovered by officials, so a search warrant was then obtained for the residence and property.
After the execution of the search warrant on the property, authorities entered the residence and found two individuals identified as Zachary Anschultz (pictured above, center), 34, of Searcy, and Alexis Archuleta (left), 22, of Batesville, hiding in a bedroom, the release said.
Also inside the residence, a firearm, drugs, and drug paraphernalia were located, and officials said more stolen vehicles that had been chopped up were discovered outside the residence, as well.
As the search warrant was being executed, authorities said a vehicle pulled up to the residence driven by a man identified as Jesse Johnson (pictured above, right), 36, of Sulphur Rock.

As deputies were approaching Johnson, a strong odor of marijuana was noted. After asking Johnson some questions as to why he was at the residence and detecting the odor of marijuana, officials conducted a search of the vehicle, and more drugs and related paraphernalia were located, the release said.
According to county authorities, Anschutz was arrested and charged with possession with the purpose to deliver methamphetamine; simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms; possession of drug paraphernalia with the purpose to analyze methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia with the purpose to inject meth; being a felon in possession of firearm; theft by receiving; and possession with the purpose to deliver a Schedule VI drug.
Archuleta was arrested and charged with possession with the purpose to deliver methamphetamine; simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms; possession of drug paraphernalia with the purpose to analyze methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia with the purpose to inject meth; theft by receiving; and possession with the purpose to deliver a Schedule VI drug.
And Johnson was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance — methamphetamine — and possession of drug paraphernalia with the purpose to inject methamphetamine.
Charges are being presented to the 16th Judicial District Prosecutor, the release said.
