The Batesville Police Department has released more information in the Thursday death of a man after a disturbance at a local apartment.
Authorities say Quincy Childress (pictured), 42, of Batesville has been charged in relation to the death of James Donovan Mobley, 44.
Childress is charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of aggravated residential burglary. He is in the Independence County Jail under a $750,000 cash bond.
No charges have been filed in the death of Mobley. The investigation is ongoing, officials said.
At 9:46 p.m., on Jan. 2, BPD officers were dispatched to a disturbance at the Lawson Drive Apartments behind the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville.
There, officers found a male victim, who was pronounced deceased by the coroner.
A person of interest was developed and was taken into custody a short time later on Highway 167 (North St. Louis Street).
