Shelby J. “Andy” Anderson, 85 of Batesville died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020.
He was born June 5, 1934, in Mount Pleasant, Arkansas to Claude and Myrl Anderson.
He served as an SP4 in the U.S. Army from Oct. 1956 – Oct. 1958. He was employed for years as plant manager for Mack Farm Dairy in Batesville and later worked at AP&L and Arkansas Eastman as a foreman for Daniels Construction.
He was of the Christian faith and attended services at Bethesda Campground UMC. Like his father, he loved kids and from the time he and his wife Joyce were married their home was filled with nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Donzie Conner.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Joyce Morehead Anderson; two daughters, Janet Brezler (Dennis) and Shelly Garth (Bill) both of Batesville; six grandchildren, Shelia Huston, Shawn White, Jesse White, Shelby Brezler, Galen Garth and Garet Garth all of Batesville; three great-grandchildren, Honest LeBlanc, Dax Andis and Greyson White; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at the North Heights Church of Christ in Batesville with Don Cross officiating. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jim Felts, Jesse White, Shawn White, Galen Garth, Butch Rush, and Austin Morehead.
Honorary pallbearers are Shelby Brezler, David Strother, Dr. Lackey Moody, Garet Garth, Dax Andis, Charley Melton, Eric Morehead, Melvin Hellums, and Blake Wycough
