Obituary: Josie Mae Vaughn (Toddy )

Josie Mae (Mead) Vaughn,78, of Harrisburg departed this life Friday, Jan. 3, 2020, at NEA Baptist in Jonesboro. She was born March 31, 1941, in Amagon, Ark., the daughter of George and Geneva (Johnson) Toddy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Donald Mead, her second husband, Billy Gordon Vaughn, and one brother, Freddie Wilbanks.

She was a homemaker and was a member of the Jonesboro Christian Church. Josie enjoyed sewing, watching the Cardinal baseball games, and putting puzzles together. She also enjoyed keeping up with people on Facebook and spending time with her family and friends.

Josie is survived by five daughters: Donna (Barry) Massengill of Harrisburg, Susan (Terry) Duffel also of Harrisburg, Cheryl (George) Jackson of Jonesboro, Helen (Calvin) Henderson also of Jonesboro, and Carol Ryan of Germantown, Tenn.; two brothers: Dale (Sally) Toddy of Hamilton, Ga., and Frank (Myrtle)Toddy of Phoenix, Ala., sisters: Joyce Pangelinan of St. Roberts, Miss., Leona Gardner of Weiner, and Barbara Mead of Southside, Ark. Josie has a host of grandchildren: Jett Jackson, Melanie Jackson, Clint Cox, Michele Wallace, Luke Massengill, Whittney Tucker, Taylor Covey, Maddy Webb, Bailey Webb, Chase Webb, Sam Massengill, Emma Massengill, Kate Wallace, Miller Wallace, Vivian Cox, Braxton Henderson, Jake Henderson, and Lyndsey Henderson.

Bro. Mitch Ford will conduct the service and the following will serve as Active Pallbearers: Jett Jackson, Luke Massengill, Clint Cox, Jay Toddy, Bradley Wallace, Josh Tucker, Sam Massengill, Jessie Blake, Dr. Chuck Welch, and Jeff Mead.

These men will serve as Honorary Pallbearers: Barry Massengill, Terry Duffel, George Jackson, Calvin Henderson, Kyle Gardner, Todd Gardner, and Eddie Cox.

Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 6, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. at Jackson’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Weiner Cemetery. Arrangements are by Jackson’s Harrisburg Funeral Home
