Gwen (Thatcher) Keeler of Amagon, Arkansas, departed this life on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2020, at the age of 73.
She was born Oct. 1, 1946, in Newport, the daughter of Virgil and Mable (Hickman) Thatcher.
Keeler worked many years in the surgical department at Newport Hospital. She enjoyed going to flea markets and cooking for her family. She loved her puppies, Onyx and Sadie.
Keeler was a member of the Amagon Baptist Church. She was a devoted member, who loved her church and her church family.
Keeler was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by one son, Marty Keeler of Amagon; one daughter, Dena Keeler of Amagon; one brother, Ronnie Thatcher, and wife, Bobbie, of Amagon; one sister, Regenia Ireland of Dewitt; one grandson, Bradley Burgess of Little Rock; four nieces and nephews, Brandy Bitner, Tracy Webb, Jason Thatcher, and Anthony Jenkins; several great-nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home, Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2020, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Memory Gardens Cemetery at Johnstown.
