The Southside Southerners and Brookland Bearcats split four games Friday night at Southside.
The Southside Junior Lady Southerners won the opener 37-21 as Coach Appleget said: “It was our most complete game of the season from start to finish”.
The Junior boys lost a nailbiter 33-30. The Southerners had a chance to tie the game but could not get the shot off as time expired.
The senior girls were up next and jumped out to a fast 17-7 lead but the Lady Bearcats refused to go quietly cutting the lead to four by halftime and only trailing by two at the end of the third quarter.
The lead was 38-34 for the Lady Southerners when the Lady Bearcats were assessed a technical for taunting.
The Lady Southerners scored the next 21 points in a row putting the game away and winning by a final score of 59-39, moving to 5-0 in conference play and setting up a showdown with Batesville on Tuesday night for the lead in the conference.
Olivia Allen had 18 points, Brett Gardner earned 15, London Cuzzort scored 12, and Reese Gardner scored 10.
