Both Mountain View Yellowjacket teams took on the Bergman Panthers Friday night

Friday night at Bergman High School, the Mountain View Lady Yellowjackets rallied to beat the Bergman Lady Panthers by a score of 38-36. 

Bergman jumped out to an early 17-11 first-quarter lead but it was the Lady Yellowjacket defense that held Bergman to 19 points the rest of the game to pick up the victory and improve to 5-1 in conference play and 15-2 overall. 

Sophomore Kennedy Holland led the way with 12 points, Senior Avery Decker added nine points, Chaelann Vickers had six points and seven rebounds while Josie Storey added six points.  The Lady Panthers fell to 4-3 in conference play and 21-8 overall.   

For the Senior Boys game, Mountain View trailed by 10 early in the fourth quarter. 

They cut the lead to five with under four minutes to play in the game on a layup by J’Air Jackson and a three-pointer get by Kaedn Henderson but the Yellowjackets couldn’t get any closer as Bergman closed it out with the victory 56-45.

Junior Brayden Scribner led the Yellowjacket offense with 21 points, Jackson added nine points and nine rebounds, while Henderson had eight points. 

Mountain View fell to 3–3 in conference play and 9-9 overall. 

Bergman improved to 24-4 overall and 6-1 in the conference.
