The Batesville Pioneers hosted the Pocahontas Redskins on Tuesday night to wrap up the series with the Redskins and had a split outcome.
The Junior Pioneers led most of their game and it took two extra periods to decide the finale.
The Junior Redskins took the win 46-40 in double overtime.
Caden Griffin led in scoring with 15 points for Batesville. The Junior team falls to 5-7 on the season.
In the Senior High game, there was only a five-point deficit between the teams as the Pioneers had the advantage.
In the second half, Senior Caleb Anderson hit three unanswered three-pointers to extend the lead and the Pioneers never looked back as they played every single young man on the roster in the second half and pulled away from the Redskins in a 72-58 victory.
Even though Anderson was cold from the foul line shooting only 13 percent he led all scorers with 21 points. Junior Austin Scott was the only other Pioneer in double digits with 10.
Batesville improves to 14-6 overall and 3-5 in the 4A-3 conference.
They will host the Westside Warriors on Friday with the Junior team tipping at 6 p.m. and the Senior High team scheduled for 7 p.m.
