Batesville Pioneers struggle on the road at Valley View

4A-3 conference action at Valley View went to the Blazers on Monday night as the Pioneers came up short in all games.

The Junior Pioneers Fell 55-20.

The senior boys kept the game close in the first quarter but the Blazers could not be stopped for the next three quarters.

The Pioneers only scored two points in the second period and Batesville ultimately fell 56-42 in the contest.

Coach Chad LaRose pulled the starters off the floor with about two minutes left in the third period and the bench players started to climb out of a big hole however there just was not enough time in the game to end on the upside.

A total of 15 Pioneers saw playing time in the ball game and 11 had points.

Junior Gunner Shell led the Pioneers in scoring with a total of nine points; all came from behind the arc. Junior J.P. Morgan had seven points and five rebounds as well.

With the loss, the Pioneers fall to 14-8 overall and 3-7 in the conference.

The Pioneers will now travel to Mississippi Country on Friday to take on the number one team in the conference, the Blytheville Chickasaws.
