Obituary: Mildred Wilcox Thomas

Mildred (Wilcox) Thomas, 84, of Floral passed away Friday, Jan. 31, 2020.

She was born on Aug. 15, 1935, in the Cedar Grove Community in Arkansas to James Leo Wilcox and Minerva (Ramsey) Wilcox.

Mildred was a member of Cedar Grove Methodist Church and Daughters of the American Revolution. She always enjoyed working outside with her flowers, driving her own tractor and deer hunting. She enjoyed doing genealogy and looking at the history of the family.

She volunteered at the Old Independence Regional Museum.

Survivors include her son, Michael L. Thomas and his wife Elaine (Barnes) Thomas of Floral; and one grandchild, Christopher Michael Thomas of Batesville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 54 years, Chester W. Thomas; two daughters, Marilyn Sue Thomas and Catherine Ann Thomas; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Thomas; two sisters, Frances Wilcox Gould and Florine Wilcox Lovell; half-brother, Charles Clinghan Jr.; and infant brother, Lenard Leo Wilcox.

Graveside services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020, at Palestine Cemetery in the Hutchinson Mountain Community under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville and officiated by Bro. Steve Long.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, 2020, at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home.
