The sixth-ranked Lady Southerners rolled to their 19th win of the season and guaranteed themselves a berth in the regional tournament for the first time since the 2013-14 season with a 63-46 win over the Valley View Lady Blazers Monday night at Southside.
London Cuzzort came out firing on all cylinders hitting for 12 points in the first quarter to give the Southerners an early 15-13 lead and helped the Southerners to a 29-20 lead at the end of two.
The lead was as much as 18 throughout the second half. Valley View made a short run at the start of the final quarter to cut the lead to 10 before the Southerners forced several turnovers and hit free throws to seal the win.
London Cuzzort led all scorers with 25 points on 9-11 shooting, along with five rebounds and three blocks. Reese Gardner added 18 points and four assists. Brett Gardner had six assists, Olivia Allen with four rebounds, three assists. Kamie Jenkins and Shelby Warden had five rebounds each.
The Lady Southerners had eight blocked shots on the night. They will travel to Blytheville Friday night.
