Lyon College to celebrate Black History Month 2020

Lyon College’s Office of Diversity in partnership with Lyon’s Black Student Association (BSA) will host several events in February to celebrate Black History Month. All are welcome to attend.

To kick off the celebration, BSA and Student Activities Council held a Super Bowl watch party on Feb. 2. Called the Big Showdown, the event was a community celebration that also honored the College’s football players.

Upcoming events include:

  • Second Annual Soul Food Dinner, 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, in Maxfield
  • Multicultural Greek Information Session, 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, in Walker
  • “For the Culture: Our Experiences as Black Students” Discussion Panel, hosted by BSA, 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, in Maxfield
  • Fourth Annual Black History Month Celebration at UACCB, 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, in Independence Hall, University of Arkansas Community College – Batesville
  • BSA Banquet, 6 p.m., Friday, Feb. 28, in Maxfield
