The Melbourne Bearkatz returned to the hardwood at home Tuesday night, taking on the Rector Cougars in critical conference matchups.

The Lady Bearkatz took to the floor first, getting off to a fast and accurate offensive start, never trailing in the game, winning by a final score of 65-24.

Kenley McCarn led all scorers with 14 points, Kate Provence added 13, and Josie Roark had 11.

The Bearkatz were on the court for the nightcap, looking to avenge one of only two previous conference losses.

Melbourne never trailed after the first 90 seconds of the game, holding off a late Rector run for a final score of 52-45.

With the win tonight, the Lady Bearkatz clinched a third consecutive conference championship, while the Bearkatz earned seven critical tiebreaker points, which will prove crucial in seeding for the upcoming conference tournament.
