Southside started hot against the Blazers Tuesday night but a tough second quarter ended with a deficit too big to overcome.
Devan Halford had 11 points in the first quarter as the Southerners led 18-15 at the end of the one.
The shots stopped falling in the second quarter as the Southerners managed to score just five points in the quarter to fall behind 35-23 at the half.
Behind two, three-pointers from Trevor Longo in the third quarter, the Southerners started climbing back in the game trailing 48-40 to start the final quarter.
Southside missed their first two shots of the final quarter and Valley View hit two, three-pointers to stretch the lead to 14 and increased it to 70-50 as the game ended.
Devon Halford had 22 points to lead all scorers and Trevor Longo added 16.
The Southerners travel to Blytheville on Friday.
