A stabbing incident last week on Zion Road in Izard County sent one person to the hospital emergency room.
Sheriff Jack Yancey said his department was contacted by officers in Sharp County concerning a stabbing victim at the Cherokee Village emergency room on Tuesday, Feb. 4.
According to a release from Yancey’s office, an investigation found that several individuals, including the suspect, Jesse Hope (pictured), 20, of Ash Flat, were traveling in a vehicle on Zion Road, then made a stop in the road which was followed by an altercation, involving Hope and the victim, who was not named.
Hope was taken into custody and charged with first-degree battery, a felony. He was placed on a $20,000 professional bond. Hope is to appear in Izard County Circuit Court on Feb. 18.
