It was a call to the Independence County Sheriff’s Department regarding stolen guns.

According to Deputy Adam McGilton, the man reporting the incident said he met a woman last Friday night at a local establishment. Later, the two went to the man’s residence where he said the woman stayed all night and left the following morning.

After the woman left, the victim said he noticed two of his firearms — a Taurus .9mm pistol and a Hi-Point .45-caliber handgun — that had been there before the woman was there were now missing.

The man then told McGilton he did not know the woman’s name, but did give the deputy a description of the vehicle she was driving — a black Ford SUV.
