Obituary: Zula Duncan Bell

Zula Duncan Bell finished her life journey on Feb. 7, 2020.

She was born Oct. 2, 1924, to Samuel Alexander and Lucy Neeley Duncan.

Zula was a gentle and loving Christian who enjoyed family gatherings, especially Thanksgiving! She loved to quilt, gardening, canning, and cooking. Her children loved her chocolate gravy. She was a member of the Springmill Assembly of God Church.

She is survived by five children, Betty Bell Grigsby of Oak Grove Missouri, Jackie (Judy) Bell of Batesville, Larry Bell of Austin, Texas, Tammy Bell Bryant of Batesville, Lori Bell of Batesville; one daughter-in-law, Shari Dye Bell of Perry, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren, CJ (Russ) Lindemann, Neil (Cynthia) Grigsby, Lisa (Terry) Winter, Samuel Alexander Grigsby, Sheri (Roger) Tate, Brandi Bell, Andru Bell, Eli Bell, Terry Bell, Justin Bell, Jake Bell, Evan Bell, Mariah Moran; eighteen great-grandchildren;, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Zula is preceded in death by her husband, Dean Bell, whom she married on August 23, 1942, and two sons, Ronnie Bell of Perry, Missouri, and Jerry Bell of Batesville.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Evan Bell, Jake Bell, CJ Lindemann, Nathan Stout, Lisa Grigsby, Neil Grigsby, Alex Grigsby, and Miriah Moran.

Funeral services will be Monday, Feb. 10, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at the Roller-Crouch Chapel with Billy Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
