Batesville Police say a female tried to pass a counterfeit $100 bill at a Batesville Sonic Drive-In without success.

Officer Chris Rogers said an employee took the “funny money” with the female saying she wanted her change in twenty dollar bills.

The Sonic employee said when she took the $100 bill inside, she could tell it was a fake.

The female left the scene before officers arrived, police say.

In another case, Batesville Police are still looking for a minivan that was stolen from the Economy Inn on East Main Street.

Patrolman Jordan Akins said a man advised him that he went outside and started his vehicle to allow it to warm up, then returned to his room to finish dressing.

The victim said he heard a door slam, looked out, and saw the minivan speeding off.

The vehicle is described as a 2003 Chrysler Voyager with Oklahoma license number: HIW 482.

The case remains under investigation.
