Obituary: Ada Mae (Pulliam) Henley

Ada Mae (Pulliam) Henley, 97, of Batesville passed away on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020.

She was born on June 7, 1922 in Somerville, Tennessee to Thomas Jefferson Pulliam and Evanna (Harvey) Pulliam.

Ada was a member of Somerville Church of Christ and Harrison Street Church of Christ.

Survivors include her daughter, Betty German (Tom) of Batesville; three grandchildren, Christie McClure (Jamey), Michele Hewitt (Jason) and Charity Barber (Patrick); seven great-grandchildren, Viviane McClure, Ivy McClure, Scotty McClure, Shelby Hewitt, Jadyn Barber, Eliana Barber, and Judah Barber; brother, Harlan Pulliam of Somerville, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Henley; infant son, Noble Henley; three brothers, Ed Pulliam, J.H. Pulliam and Julian Pulliam; and two sisters, Hortense Crawford and Mary Nell Black.

Pallbearers are Phillip Lloyd, Steve Wells, Ted Hyslip, Collie Shaw, James Simmons, Calvin Taylor, Charles Jordan, and Josh Wells.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Woodlawn Heights Nursing Home for taking such great care of her.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 21, 2020, at Harrison Street Church of Christ under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville with Tom German officiating.

Burial will take place following the service at 3:00 p.m. at Peebles Cemetery in Somerville, Tennessee.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020, at Harrison Street Church of Christ.

Memorials may be made in her honor to Paragould Children’s Home, 5515 Walcott Road, Paragould, AR 72450.
