The Lady Pioneers earned the number one seed in the 4A East Regional Tournament and are the 4A-3 Conference Tournament Champions after defeating the Southside Lady Southerners on Saturday by a final of 52-44.
For three quarters the game was even but the Lady Pioneers pulled away in the third to push the lead to the eight point margin.
For Southside, Junior London Cuzzort led in scoring with 20 points and Sophomore Brett Gardner had 11.
Junior Lady Pioneer Izzy Higginbottom led all scorers as she hit six buckets from the field, two from behind the arc and went 11/11 from the foul line for a total of 29 points.
Higginbottom also added in six assists, six steals and three rebounds in the victory.
Sophomore Riley Freeman put in 11 points and Junior Riley Freeman scored nine.
Batesville’s overall record is now 26-2 and they will play in the first game of the Regional Tournament this week at Valley View High School on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
