Ozella Melton Reves, 102, of Cord, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020, in Franklin, Tennessee.
She was born to Albert Lee Melton and Lucretia Jane (Luttrell) Melton McLean on Nov. 18, 1917.
As a young woman Ozella moved to Batesville, where she was a member of the West Batesville Baptist Church. During this time she earned her nursing license, beginning a profession she enjoyed for over 45 years until her retirement at 89 years old.
She lived in many cities including Detroit, Little Rock, and Alexandria, VA.
Ozella loved to dance and travel. In her life she was able to visit 49 states and numerous foreign countries, even making a trip to New York City at the age of 100. She was also a member of the Martha Washington Chapter of the Eastern Star.
Ozella is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ann Reeves; her granddaughters: Leanna (von Sternberg) Kehoe and her husband Ryan Kehoe, and Allena (von Sternberg) Kindrachuk and her husband Mark Kindrachuk; her great-granddaughters: Paige and Tristann Kehoe; and siblings Nettie Lee White and Dorothy Jean Ford.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands Owen Reves and Cecil Hon; and siblings Velma (Melton) Winders, Norris McLean, Lloyd McLean, Dowell McLean, and Norman McLean.
Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. and funeral services at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28 at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville, Arkansas with burial directly following at Oaklawn Cemetery.
