A woman and three men apparently conspired to steal a vehicle last Friday from an Independence County used car dealer.
The Independence County Sheriff’s Department says it is looking for a maroon, 2006 Chevrolet Impala, 4-door sedan.
According to Officer Chris Martin’s report, while the suspects were distracting a Brooks Auto Sales employee, one of the suspects was taking the keys to the Impala, which were hanging on the office wall.
When the vehicle was discovered missing by the business owner, texts were sent to some of the suspects in the case.
According to the police report, one male subject contacted the dealership, said he knew where the vehicle was located and wanted to “make a deal.”
According to the business owner, the suspect wanted to bring the vehicle back, no questions asked. He didn’t want to get in any type of trouble.
A deal was not made and the vehicle was entered into the Arkansas Crime Information Center as stolen.
The Independence County Sheriff’s Department said the case is still under investigation.
