Independence County authorities say a worker, identified as Matthew Thomas, 29, ran away from a trash pickup work detail in Pleasant Plains.
Chief Deputy Sheriff Aaron Moody said Thomas had been in custody at the Independence County Detention Facility for several days.
Thomas led authorities on a car chase last August that crossed through several counties including Independence, White, and Cleburne counties.
Some felonies and misdemeanors resulted from the August incident.
Thomas was working on trash pickup detail to work off fines for the misdemeanor charges.
