The Mountain View Lady Yellowjackets advance to the quarter-final round of the Class 3A State Tournament with a 56-43 victory over the Central Lady Cougars.
The Lady Yellowjackets controlled the game throughout building a 20-8 lead after the first quarter.
Central would close the gap to 33-25 at halftime outscoring the Lady Yellowjackets 18-13 the second quarter.
The Lady Yellowjackets would start the second half on a 12-2 run led by Sophomore Josie Storey’s eight points in the third quarter.
Mountain View would lead 51-32 after three-quarters of play.
Playing with foul trouble in the fourth quarter, Mountain View would hold off a late Central rally to preserve the 56-43 victory.
Storey led the Lady ‘Jacket offense with 20 points and seven rebounds, Chaelann Vickers had 11 points and 13 rebounds, Aubrey Isbell added 11 points and Caitlyn Lopez had six points.
The Lady Yellowjackets improved to 25-5 on the season and will play Hoxie in the quarter-final round on Thursday night at 7:00.
