Barry Wayne Butler, II, of the Elgin Community, departed this life on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at the age of 39. He was born April 14, 1980, in Batesville, the son of Barry Wayne Butler, Sr. and Rebecca (Tims) Nipps.
Butler was a graduate of Batesville High School and had earned a Sociology degree from UACCB. He was currently working on a Master of Sociology/Social Problems at Arkansas State University. Butler was a giving, selfless person, who never met a stranger. He loved donating his time and energy to helping others and enjoyed writing and drawing.
Butler was preceded in death by his father; his paternal grandparents, Grover and Meda Butler; and his maternal grandparents, AC and Mary Tims.
He is survived by his partner, Darin Arnold of Elgin; his mother, Rebecca Nipps of Elgin; two sisters, Lindsey Johnson and husband, Daniel of Swifton and Heather Taylor Arnold and husband Donald, of Elgin; nieces and nephews, Bailey Johnson, Kobe Johnson, Peyton Johnson, and Kinsley Arnold; and a lifetime of friends.
Memorial visitation will be Sunday, 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers are Scotty Burns, Jody Qualls, Kevin Sherrill, and Michael Taylor.
Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital or the Butterfly Ranch.
