In response to the coronavirus situation, Batesville Police Chief Alan Cockrill said today that the Police Department Office Building will now be closed to walk-ins.

He said officers will man phones to take calls and will come to a site in an emergency.

“Naturally, if it’s an emergency, we’re gonna respond just like we always do, but [for] the non-emergency stuff, we’re gonna limit access to the office,” the chief told White River Now.
