The wife of a man incarcerated in Independence County and working off court fines in the community service program has had an arrest warrant issued for her.
Christina Leann Thomas, 29, is charged in Circuit Court with felony assistance or furnishing an implement for escape.
Authorities in the court documents Thomas is charged with providing a U-Haul truck for his escape.
Police say she rented the U-Haul, filled it with her and her husband’s personal property, and then drove to a service station in Pleasant Plains.
There, she waited on her husband to come by working on an Independence County trash truck.
He slipped away when the trash truck stopped at the station, got into the truck and headed to Texas.
Christina Thomas is charged with providing the U-Haul truck so the two could escape Independence County authorities.
Both Christina and her husband, Matthew, were caught in a small town outside Fort Worth, Texas and taken to jail to await extradition back to Independence County.
A bond has been set on Christina Thomas of $50,000.
