A woman who lives on Slatey Point Loop in the Marcella area of Stone County called police to say there was a man in her house who wasn’t supposed to be there.

Circuit Court information said deputies Tharp and Doss were told the lady had memory issues and the man, identified as Richie Lee McCarroll, 28, had been living there for several days with a female, Jamie King.  King told deputies that were correct.

Turns out, the officers found that McCarroll is an active parolee with a search waiver on file.

His parole officer, Agent Pinkston, was called. He told the officers, McCarroll was not supposed to be at that address.  The woman’s memory was actually correct.

Upon questioning, McCarroll admitted to the recent use of methamphetamine.

Deputies took him into custody for drug use.

A search of the area located a pouch that contained four syringes, a set of digital scales, and two baggies of what tested positive as methamphetamine.

McCarroll was taken to jail and charged with three felonies; possession of meth with the purpose to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia with the purpose to use methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia with the purpose to prepare methamphetamine.

McCarroll is also being tried as a habitual offender. His bond was set at $2,500.
