Search warrant at man’s home yields two pounds of suspected meth, firearms, and…an alligator

According to the Sharp County Sheriff’s office, after authorities executed a search warrant at a residence yesterday, they discovered two pounds of suspected methamphetamine, a large sum of cash, several firearms, drug paraphernalia, and…an alligator.

In a release this morning from Sheriff Mark Counts, representatives from the Arkansas State Police, the Sharp County Sheriff’s Department, Arkansas Game and Fish, and the 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force executed the warrant at the residence of Daniel Mark Church, 41, north of Cave City.

Church was arrested and transported to the Sharp County Jail. where he is being held awaiting the filing of formal charges. The case stems from an ongoing investigation by the Arkansas State Police and the Sharp County Sheriff’s Department, according to Counts.

The alligator was turned over to Arkansas Game and Fish authorities.
