Obituary: James F. Hoggard

James F. Hoggard age 71 of Sheridan (formerly of Cave City) died Thursday, April 2, 2020, at his home.  He was born February 22, 1949, in Batesville to Bartis and Juanita Wilson Hoggard.  He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran who served his country proudly.  He retired from the Arkansas Department of Transportation after 33 years.  He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Sheridan.  James loved the Lord and his family with all his heart.

Surviving are his loving wife of 38 years, Althea Ashlock Hoggard; four children, Drew Hoggard (Jenny) of Hampton, Mike Hoggard (Mary) of Marmaduke, Julie Helms (Matt) and Travis Hoggard (Heather) both of Batesville; nine grandchildren, Rylee and Allie Hoggard, Eli Hoggard, Stormy, Sadie and Lock Helms, Samuel, Colby and Heidi Hoggard; three siblings, Paul Hoggard (Paula) of Sulphur Rock, Cynthia Smith (Rick) of Batesville, and Jimmy Hoggard of Cave City; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be Monday, April 6, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at the Cave City Cemetery with Bro. Terry Williams officiating. Arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Pallbearers will be Steve Hampton, Clark Morgan, J.M. Crites, Keith Wilson, Brandon Hoggard, and Matt Helms.

Honorary pallbearers are Gary Farmer, Larry Farmer, Bryon Hoggard, Robert Withers, Ronnie Nutt and, Robert Boyd.
