5e8b909b9723d

Jimmy “Jim” Lee VanWinkle, 67, of Batesville passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2020. He was born on July 2, 1952, in Bradford.

Jim was a loving father, son, grandfather, and friend. Jim was a very kind and loving person. His home and heart were always open to anyone that was down on their luck or needed a place to stay. He would give you the shirt off his back, or the last dollar he had. He was an avid collector of model and matchbox cars, as well as tinkering on old cars. But most of all, he loved his daughter and grandchildren more than life itself.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Lorine VanWinkle; brother, Clinton Wayne VanWinkle and Gerald Wayne VanWinkle; and sister, Luerece VanOven.

He is survived by his daughter, Tina Harder (Chris); brothers, John VanWinkle (Carol), Richard VanWinkle (Diane), Alva VanWinkle (Brenda), and Warren VanWinkle (Denise); grandchildren, Adrian Rippstein and Shawna Harder; great-grandchildren, Chevelle and Thomas Rippstein; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held at a later date.
