The Mountain View Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the 58th Annual Arkansas Folk Festival has been canceled. The festival is ordinarily held the third Saturday in April. A few weeks ago, it was pushed to May due to the coronavirus concerns, but now the festival has simply been canceled.
“Due to COVID-19, we feel that it is necessary to protect the health of our citizens by maintaining social distancing and by following the current directives given by our Governor,” Nikki Morrow, executive director of the Mountain View Area Chamber of Commerce, said in a statement.
“We are aware that there are tentative measures to reopen commerce in early May, but that will not include large festivals and gatherings. We appreciate our local businesses and do realize the financial impact that this will have. We are working hard to prepare and implement recovery plans for our members and our community.”
