Obituary: Jerry Lee Fletcher

Jerry Lee Fletcher, 69, of Mountain View passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2020, at Stone County Medical Center in Mountain View. Jerry was born on May 30, 1950, in Onia, to the late Afton and Genevie (Williams) Fletcher.

Jerry worked for many years as a stonemason; he served his community for twelve years as a deputy for the Stone County Sheriff’s Department and a chief for the Mountain View Police Department, he also retired as a Captain from the Mountain View Volunteer Fire Department after 25 years of service. Jerry enjoyed hunting and fishing but most of all he loved his family and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Jerry will be greatly missed by all of his loving family and friends.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sylvia (Carter) Fletcher; son, Afton Fletcher and wife Jeteela of Mountain View; daughter, Janet Rodgers and husband Jim of Mountain View; one brother, Donnie Fletcher and wife Linda of Mountain View; two sisters, Genny Reece and husband Lerman of Big Flat, and Mary Smith and husband Allen of Lonoke; four grandchildren, Jennifer Brewer and husband Jake, Cody Rodgers and wife Bethany, Whitley Hopper and husband Samuel, and Meadow Rowlett and husband Norbert; four great-grandchildren, Sadie Sisk, Austin Brewer, Averie Brewer, and Sara Brewer; along with many extended family and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Afton and Genevie (Williams) Fletcher; one brother, Lowell Moore and one sister, Susan Laubhan.
