Britten Farms Horse Rescue in Pfeiffer helping to care for horses neglected and abused

britten-farms-2

The mission of Britten Farms Horse Rescue in Pfeiffer, Ark. is: “… to rescue horses in need and protect them for life. We save horses from slaughter, neglect, and abuse. When they arrive here, they are home. All horses live ‘Where horses get to be horses.'”

The farm, located at 1580 Pfeiffer Rd., is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit and is seeking donations to help care for the animals.

“The cost of caring for these noble animals is great,” the rescue states on its website. “All rescues depend on the community for support and funding. A common misconception is that the government gives free funding to all rescues. This is not true.”

The rescue farm has a monthly donation program to help give the horses safety and care. For example, $10 a month helps provide two weeks of hay for a horse; $25 provides one month of grain; $50 can provide one month of grain and hay, and $100 a month provides hay, grain, straw bedding, and necessary supplies. And, of course, the farm welcomes any donation, regardless of size.

All funds and donated items are tax-deductible.
