Beckey Darlene Tyner, 65, passed away peacefully at her home on April 27, 2020, due to complications from kidney failure. She was born and raised in Newport and graduated from high school there in 1972.
Cooking for others, decorating for every holiday and keeping an immaculate home and yard were some of Beckey’s favorite activities, but her true passion was being a loving and devoted mother. Beckey, a lifelong Southern Baptist and Democrat also enjoyed watching Westerns, traveling out West and listening to country music. For a large portion of her life, Beckey was a self-employed artist selling her ceramics at craft fairs throughout Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee and Georgia with her son Christopher. Her family and friends all say that she had a kind, loving spirit, a beautiful smile and a sparkle in her golden brown eyes.
Beckey is survived by her beloved son Christopher Walker; her brother Donald Tyner, Jr; and countless other family and friends. Preceding her in death were her mom Ruby Jean Redd Tyner; her sister Linda Tyner; her paternal grandparents James “Cricket” Tyner and Mildred “Sister” Bard Tyner; and her maternal grandparents Robert Redd and Liddie Hensley Redd.
In lieu of sending flowers, Beckey wishes that you would make a donation or volunteer at your local animal shelter in honor of Deuce, her loving and faithful dog for 15 years.
