Muriel Doreen Nelson Ferris, 84, of Batesville, passed away,  April 28, 2020, at her home. She was born September 2, 1935, to Frederick W. T. and Thelma Polis Nelson in Lakota, N.D.

Muriel graduated Valedictorian from Lakota High School and was a graduate of Central Technical Institute in Kansas City in 1954.  During her working years, she was an Administrative Assistant in the financial and investment services industry in the Dallas, Texas area.

Surviving are her children: daughters, Sheri F. Lobb, Batesville, Tamra Ferris (Wayne) Garman, of Batesville; sons, Jay Paul (Jackie) Ferris, of Dallas, Texas, and Randy L. Cox, of Cave City. Grandchildren, Robert Lobb and Andrew Lobb, of Kent, Washington, Amanda Lobb, of Seattle, Wash., Amy Garman (Brian) Hardin, of Batesville, Lori Garman (Scott) Campbell, of Salem, Kalli Ferris, of Conroe, Texas, Kyler (Kim) Ferris, of Conroe, Texas, Jack Ferris and Jared Ferris, of Dallas, Texas; nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Her children and their families were the delights of her life and her hope is to be remembered as a good mother and a good friend.

“God looked around the garden and saw an empty place. He then looked down from Heaven and saw your tired face. He knew you were suffering and a cure was not to be, so He put his arms around you and whispered come to me.  With tearful eyes, we watched as you slowly passed away and though we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. Many times we needed you and many times we’ve cried. If only love could have saved you, you never would have died. God grant you eternal rest and let the perpetual light shine upon you.”
