Bobbie Dale Combs departed this life on Saturday, May 02, 2020, at the age of 75. He was born November 29, 1944, in Newport, the son of J.D. and Ruby (Garland) Combs.

Combs was a 1963 graduate of Grubbs Public School. Following graduation, he served in the United States Army. This was during the Vietnam Era, and he was stationed overseas for 31 months, without a trip home. In 1968, Bobbie Dale Combs married Henrietta King, and they enjoyed 51 years together. When Bobbie lost his eyesight, his family and friends admired the way he handled this life-changing event.

Prior to losing his sight, he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting. Afterward, he continued to enjoy fishing and camping.

He worked in shipping and receiving at American Lantern Company for 37 years, retiring when the company closed. He was an active member of the Algoa Church of Christ and had a strong faith in his Lord. He loved his family.  Combs was happiest when surrounded by his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Henrietta (King) Combs; two daughters, Teresa Huckabee and husband, David, of Amagon, and Lisa Smith and husband, Mike, of Batesville; one brother, Donald Combs and wife, Sue, of Paxton, Ill.; three grandchildren, Corey Huckabee, Haley Boyce, and Aleena Smith; three great-grandchildren, Braylynn, Maddox, and Magnolia; and a lifetime of friends.
