Vehicle stolen in west Batesville later located by owner at local auto salvage business

news-generic-graphic-2020-10

Last week, Batesville Police received a report from a woman that her daughter’s pickup truck was stolen from a west Batesville residence.

The woman making the report said her daughter told her that her pickup “broke down” at a residence on Ross Street and noted the resident at the Ross Street home volunteered to attempt to repair the truck.

When the daughter went back to the residence to check on her vehicle, it was missing. The resident said, “Two men showed up in a truck pulling a flatbed trailer and told him they were sent by the owner to retrieve the truck.”

The vehicle — a 2001 Chevrolet S-10 — was entered into the Arkansas Crime Information Center as stolen.

Police say the truck was located at an area auto salvage business by the owner. The case remains under investigation.
