Independence County Quorum Court to address April and May agendas in May 11 meet

Independence County Clerk Tracy Nast Mitchell says the May 11 quorum court meeting will be held in the Independence County Library to address the court’s April and May agenda items.

Because of the coronavirus pandemic, April’s meeting was postponed until May’s gathering.

Mitchell noted that one ordinance on the agenda concerns a grant for the White River Medical Center.

Judge Robert Griffin said he believes that with the current reopening conditions, only constitutional county officials, the quorum court, County Attorney Daniel Haney, and the press should be the only ones allowed into the building.

The May 11 meeting in the Independence County Library building will start at 6 p.m.
