The Southside City Council met for regular business on Monday night. This was the first time the council has gathered since March 9 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The council reviewed minutes from the previous meeting along with current financial reports and discussed mostly how many projects in the town are delayed due to the coronavirus impact on businesses.
Projects delayed include approval and advancement in changes to the flow of traffic on Triangle Road, the Ramsey Mountain Property that is also jointly-owned by Independence County, and the city of Batesville; and the creation of a webpage for the municipality.
The council is working to draft an ordinance to better-fit meeting procedures during times of a public health emergency in the future.
No ordinance was introduced but it was noted that before anything will be brought forth, Mayor Ray Bowman will seek the advisement of Attorney Buck Gibson to ensure the ordinance meets all legal aspects necessary.
The council also voted in agreement to purchase an additional outdoor security camera for Southside City Hall.
