LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Bars in Arkansas are being allowed to reopen over the next week with new coronavirus safety measures as the state’s three casinos resume operations.
Gov. Asa Hutchinson on Monday said freestanding bars will be allowed to reopen on May 26. Bar areas within restaurants can reopen on Tuesday.
The state’s three casinos reopened Monday but were limited to one-third capacity and required to follow other social distancing restrictions.
Health officials did not detail the new rules for bars but said they would be similar to restrictions for restaurants that were allowed to reopen last week.
