Obituary: John Noland Weaver

John N. Weaver, 62, of Fort Smith passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 17, 2020.

He was born on May 20, 1957, in Fort Worth, Tex. to John P. Weaver and Nola (Marlin) Weaver.

John was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Fort Smith. He married Nancy Sturch on June 21, 1980, and loved his family. He was a real social guy who loved to laugh and make people laugh. He was also a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He was an avid golfer and Arkansas Razorbacks fan. He worked for Baldor for 16 years.

Although he lived in Fort Smith, he always considered Batesville his home.

Survivors include his mother, Nola Weaver of Batesville; his wife of almost 40 years, Nancy (Sturch) Weaver of the home; daughter, Hayley Weaver (Trevor Latham) of Cave Springs; two brothers, Larry Weaver of Batesville and Bryan Weaver (Lisa) of Cabot; nieces, Kelsey Weaver of Dallas, Tex. and Kirby Weaver of Cabot; as well as aunts, uncles and several cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Weaver.

Pallbearers are John Karrant, Steve Case, Alan Cockrill, Larry Bentley, David Bell, Trevor Latham, Tim Howard, and Preston Grace III.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 21, 2020, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Stephen Gadberry officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville.

There will be a Rosary Service beginning at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2020, with a visitation to follow from 5:30 p.m until 6:30 p.m. at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

Memorials may be made in his honor to Arkansas Sheriff’s Youth Ranch and St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Due to the CDC guidelines for COVID-19, there will be a maximum of 50 people in the building. You are required to wear a face-covering and social distancing will be observed.
