“He is trying to come into my window.”

That’s what one excited caller into 911 said as a local contractor was allegedly smashing windows at the caller’s residence.

Officers responded to the disturbance at a Batesville Boulevard residence near Pleasant Plains on May 18. The court information says Rodney Allen Stubbs, 34, of Batesville, became angry the day before when he was asked when he expected to finish his company’s roofing job on the residence.

The court information said the next day, May 18, Stubbs took his mother and went to the residence to pick up his trailer and tools. Evidentially, words were exchanged, and tempers flared. The report went on to say he broke a bathroom window out of the house and a rear sliding-glass door.

The deputy called to the scene said he arrived to find Stubbs holding a claw hammer and threatening people inside the residence. The officer said he had to order Stubbs at gunpoint to drop the hammer. Stubbs complied and was restrained with handcuffs.

Authorities say damage to the home is estimated at just over $1,300.

Stubbs has been charged in Independence County Circuit Court with terroristic threatening in the first degree, first-degree criminal mischief, and attempted residential burglary

Stubbs bond was set at $50,000.
